The Lyncroft Manor Sweepstakes

This game was created for the Spooktober N64 Style  Graphics Jam #3

"The Lyncroft Manor Sweepstakes" is a 3-D beat'em up, expressly presented in order to emulate the  limitations and characteristics of the N64 system. Such characteristics include extremely low-resolution textures, simplistic meshes with low-polygon counts, choppy framerates, and overly saturated anti-aliasing features which practically render the entire display a jumbled blur.

The "Story":

The Lyncroft Mansion lies dilapidated and deserted on the outskirts of town.  Rumor has it that the entirety of the house's residents mysteriously disappeared on Halloween Night in 1903, purported during the performance of a forbidden occult ritual.

Multiple attempts to renovate the estate have failed, as paranormal sightings and vicious phenomenon purportedly dissuaded the workers from fulfilling their duties.

Even to this day, rumors abound that the undead members of the Lyncroft family continue to haunt the premises to this day, an occurrence that becomes particularly intense during each subsequent anniversary of the  purported disappearance.

Now, as Halloween Night nears once again, a peculiar Sweepstake has been instituted, challenging any willing participants to survive  an entire night in the forboding manor on October 31st.

14 year-old Ulrike Klotz is all too enticed by the $50,000 prize money on offer, that she accepts the offer.

Strolling casually into the mansion, she elects to stretch out on one of the premise's aging mattresses as she awaits daylight.

Shortly before midnight, she is awoken by a ghostly scream echoing throughout the aging hallways.  Gripping a candle, she decides to investigate, increasingly mindful of the prospect that accepting this elusive challenge may have  ultimately prove to be the worst mistake of her life....and possibly, her last.

Gameplay.

You control Ulrike Klotz as she navigates various corridors of the Lyncroft Manor, which are thoroughly infested with re-animated skeletons and spectral ghosts.   

Fight and destroy monsters, while collecting various keys that you'll need to unlock specific doors en route to the stairwell leading to the lower levels of the mansion.
