Strikers 1940-ish

This game was submitted for Bullet Hell Jam 2022.

Note: This has been hastily implemented due to time constraints, and many components which I had intended to include (such as power-ups, life counters, and even a simple scoring system) have yet to be implemented.

Thus, even by the standards of a proof-of-concept-demo, this game is very, very, VERY incomplete.

Plot:

I'll think of it, when I come to it.

Gameplay:

Per the trademark definition of the "bullet hell" genre, the player's objective is simply to shoot at anything that moves, whilst avoiding an entourage of incoming projectiles. 

Controls:

arrow keys	movement
space bar	fire weapons
escape	quit

Credits:

All programming, meshes, textures, sound effects, and music are completely original, with the exception of the following sound file.

Assets created prior to the game jam are the following:

• flying wing mesh
• helicopter texture and mesh
• grass terrain texture
• small(blue) explosion animation
• small explosion sound effect

update:

the newest version 1.01 has been added to the downloads section.  This revision features the following changes and enhancements:

• scoring system
• power upgrades
• life limitations
• loss conditions
• projectiles are more visible in the backdrop of surrounding particle effects

updates for version 1.02

• fixed: initial respawn phase offers 3-second invincibility against both bullets and mid-air collisions.
• ground explosions scroll downward in accordance to the landscape.
