Premise
In the final months of the Second World War in Europe, Hauptmann Marina Helmschmid has been assigned to an elite Jagdgeschwader, designed to field small a production batch new Dornier Do 335 Pfeils in operational trials
Barely into the preliminary phases of her initial combat sortie in the type, and her aircraft is inexplicably whisked away through the impositions of an unexplained time warp, where she will be forced to contend with new challenges in aerial warfare through various eras of the future.
Inspired by the 1982 Konami classic "Time Pilot", this particular game incorporates simplified 3-D flight combat within a slightly modernized aesthetic of the original game.
How To Play
The simply objective for each the game's (currently 2) levels is to destroy 10 aircraft within your vicinity, whilst dodging incoming enemy missiles.
Once the specified "quota" of aerial victories as been established, the time portal will engage once again, whisking you and your aircraft off to the next level.
At this point, a synopsis of the historical periods and enemies pertinent to each of the game's current levels is summarized as follows:
Vietnam (1972)
In this particular era, the player will encounter F-4 Phantoms from the U.S.S. Saratoga. This particular breed of supersonic fighter boast considerably greater speed than the player's outmoded aircraft, but suffer from an extremely wide turning radius, enabling them to be outmaneuvered with ease.
F-4's carry air-to-air missiles, which home in on your aircraft and explode within close proximity. However, if the player manages to traverse outside of the projectile's view-cone before the critical distance has been established, the Sidewinder's lock-on is broken and the missile will fall harmlessly away.
Syria (2022)
In this era, the player will come face to face with U.S. F-22 Raptors, which feature considerably greater maneuverability than their obsolescent counterparts, despite a slight reduction in speed from the maximum figure enjoyed by the F-4.
In the modern age, guided missile technology has improved, and the process of foiling an untimely "lock on" is considerably more difficult.
